OLPC - Where can I get one!

As a teacher and Egyptian I was wondering if I am eligible to buy an XO. I can't find any info on the net, strangely enough....:(

Who should I contact in Egypt about this?

One of my friends is in the egypt OLPC team. I'll make him follow this thread and reply to you.. but AFAIK it's not sold here in egypt though anyone can get it to you from amazon, but it will be really costy cause you actually pay the price of 2, one you get and one as a give away to the poor countries. Anyway if you are only interested in seeing it it's available here in alexandria library, and its software is opened online you can get it and install it on any netbook.

It's the hardware

It was actually the hardware that I'm interested in....I've tried the OLPC SUGAR environment on a couple of computers and I like it (unlike a lot of people!)

AFAIK, you can't buy one

AFAIK, you can't buy one any more, they even ended G1G1 program (which was available in USA and Canada only), you can order 100,000 units though ;)

I've a couple of XOs (4 if we count the pre-deployment ones). May be I can lend you one if you are interested in Arabic translation/testing/coding.
